In recent years, strengthening energy security and diversifying supply chains have become increasingly critical. The latest milestone in this field is the opening of our modernized LPG terminal in the Port of Riga. However, this is only one facet of future-proofing the energy sector – energy must also be ethical, clean, and accessible.
To drive the energy transition, Alexela is developing integrated systems at the group level, including biomethane refuelling infrastructure and advanced e-mobility solutions. In Latvia, businesses and individuals can already benefit from innovative VOOL electric vehicle chargers, which combine a smart app with premium support and service.
Alexela also contributes to the transition to fully renewable energy by building solar and wind parks, developing a renewable energy pumped-storage facility, a peak-load biomethane power plant, and a virtual power plant.

Hydrogen
- Alexela's already wide range of products is expanding with the addition of innovative energy carriers. We opened our first hydrogen filling station in 2025.
Energy balance
- We are developing a renewable energy water storage based on Zero Terrain technology in Paldiski.
Peak load biogas plant
- We are developing a biomethane peaking power plant to compensate for the unreliability of renewable energy generation and to build climate-neutral, managed generation capacity to replace shale power plants after their closure.
