Switching providers is very simple and free of charge. You just need to choose the most suitable tariff plan on our website and sign the contract in the "Mana Alexela" self-service portal by the 9th of the current month. Once the contract is signed, the information regarding the change of trader is submitted to the system operator, and your existing contract is automatically terminated. The new contract with Alexela takes effect on the 1st of the following month, and there is no interruption in the electricity supply during this process.
 

If you sign the contract by the 9th of the month, the new contract will take effect on the 1st of the following month. If you sign after the 9th, the contract effective date will be the 1st of the month after next.

It depends on your usage habits. The Guaranteed (Fixed) tariff is the best choice if you prefer peace of mind and stable bills. On the other hand, the Exchange (Spot) price will be more beneficial if you can shift your major daily consumption to hours when exchange prices are lowest. The Flexible tariff sets the price for one month, providing a balance between predictability and market dynamics.

Yes, Alexela Latvia is a flexible partner. If the chosen tariff plan does not meet your expectations, you can apply for a different plan in the "Mana Alexela" self-service portal. Please note that Guaranteed price contracts may involve a fixed-term commitment, whereas Flexible and Exchange tariffs allow for more freedom to make changes.
 

Your total bill primarily consists of the following components:
 

  • Electricity consumed (your chosen Alexela tariff);
  • Trader service fee – a fixed monthly fee for contract maintenance;
  • Transmission and distribution – fees paid to AS "Sadales tīkls"  (Tarifu aprēķina kalkulators I Sadales tīkls) for the delivery of electricity to your property;
  • Balancing capacity maintenance fee – AST (Balancing and system imbalance prices | AST);
  • VAT.

Balancing costs arise in the electricity market when actual consumption differs from predicted volumes. These costs are a standard part of the electricity market mechanism and may be included in the bill according to the trader's terms and conditions.
